For use in demonstration or experiment on basic properties of waves in general such as reflection, refraction, diffraction and interference, by simulation with water surface waves . The water surface waves are generated in a ripple tank having a dimension of 500 mm x 320 mm x 50 mm, supported by a demountable four-leg frame. The tank is made of plastic with clear glass bottom. The system has a reflector and translucent screen on which the waves shadow can be observed. The ripples are produced by a ripple generator producing periodic variation of air pressure in the wave generating dipper(s).
