The Refrigeration & Heat Pump Trainer is designed as a teaching aid in basic refrigeration and heat pump system with 4 way reversing valve components which provides a reversible cycling mode, cooling mode and heating mode. It is also equipped with expansion valves and capillary tubes of  varying length to familiarize the student on different expansion components.

Evaporator and condenser fitted with transparent pipes to enable the student directly observe the phase transition of the refrigerant and are equipped with fans speed controllers to provide the various air flow rates.

The trainer installation is mounted on a rigid framed table and panel.
