In the beginning of Ramadhan 1437 H, Pudak Scientific held the “Workshop of Science Laboratory Management, Basic Level” for science teachers, laboratory assistants, and laboratory technicians of junior high school and senior high school. The workshop on June 11, 2016 at Pudak Training Center was attended by 13 participants from DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, and Riau.

The workshop began with presentation by Dr. Neneng Windayani, M. Pd., a lecturer of Chemistry Education Department of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati, Bandung. She conveyed about the important of administration in laboratory management for a better supervision of the assets owned by school’s laboratory.

After break and zuhr prayer, workshop was continued by physics, chemistry, and biology experiment that included:

• basic measurement by using calipers, screw micrometer, and basic meter
• power supply test
• solution making
• observation of leaf’s stomata
• insect’s respiration

Participants were also informed about the basic knowledge of laboratory equipment maintenance and simple repair, such as for microscope, glass equipment, balance, etc.

Workshop was ended at 5.00 p.m. Participants were satisfied with this workshop. One participant said that he learned a lot and he wished it will help his school in improving its laboratory. Through this workshop we wished to be actively involved in improving the education quality in Indonesia.
