In order to enhance the educational world in Indonesia, especially to find young people with superior research presentation from junior high school, senior high school, as well as vocational school, therefore, Pudak Scientific in cooperation with the Centre for Young Scientists of Surya University will held a science competition. This science competition is called the Young Scientists Competition (YSC) 2014.
The competition can be followed by junior high school, senior high school, and vocational school students from West Java and Jakarta, aged 13 to19 years old. Participant can be 1 person or 2 people per team or group. Competition categories are mathematic, physics, computer science, ecology (biology, medical, and environment).
The semi final and final rounds of the Young Scientists Competition 2014 will take place on October 29-30, 2014 at Pudak Training Center, Jl. Mekar Raya 12, Gedebage - Bandung.
This competition is prestigious because the winner of YSC 2014 will automatically follows the Indonesian National Team selection to compete in APYSC-2015 event in Malaysia and ICYS-2015 event in Turki. Selected winners of the last YSC-2013 had represented Indonesia in the International Young Scientists 2014 in Belgrade - Serbia and the Asia Pacific Conference of Young Scientists 2014 in Taipei - Taiwan. The YSC participants who won the title in Belgrade are:
- Harman Dewantoro (SMA Kr. Cita Hati, Surabaya).
- Jocelyne Livia Kusuma (SMA St. Laurensia, Tangerang).
- Josiah Christopher (SMA Kr. Cita Hati, Surabaya).
- Jeff Bastian (SMA Kr. Petra 1, Surabaya).
